Last week I stayed up to watch Jon Stewart, the Daily Show and the Colbert Report several times and noticed quite a few pretty raunchy girls gone wild commercials prior to and during the shows. Then somebody here at the Daily Kos had mentioned something about the Lou Dobbs program yesterday so I recorded the 1 am show on tivo.
Well this is just an observation but I cannot get over how the few programs on television that I care for are inundated with girls gone wild advertising.
What the hell is going on? They have some of the raunchiest commercials for girls gone wild videos before and during these programs. I mean the Daily Show and Colbert Report are on at 10:00 and 10:30 pm PST and the commercials look like stuff I might see at 11:00 pm to 2:00 am on a weekend night.
I don't remember what channel Lou is on (CNN?) but to see hot lesbo action for girls gone wild commercials all around the Lou Dobbs program seems out there.
Well I have to question it. Why don't they have hot lesbo action commercials before and during Larry King? How about hot lesbo action during Glenn Beck and Hannity Colmes...oh is it because they are locked into better time slots and don't repeat their airing later in the evenings?
I don't consider myself particularly paranoid about much, except the economy but these commercial spots being inserted around these programs really seems suspect.
Now the owner of the girls gone wild has made millions upon millions off this stuff. Now most of the spring break stuff or 'college girls gone wild' they record certainly must make a wonderful bullshit slant to all the less fortunate who can never afford to go to college.
I lived in student slums while going to college. One place I lived had snow coming in between the floor and walls and most mornings my roommates and I could see our breath as we prepared to go to our classes. I didn't have a car and couldn't possibly afford to go down to Florida to frolic and party to get a break from freezing.
I am sure the republican party just love the idea that their less economically fortunate supporters, who are unable to afford to ever go to college ever, believe that 'its all the liberals who are doing this' and their 'corrupt ideology' from 'outspoken leftist elitist' professors.
Well I have got news for anyone who does believe that. Natalee Holloway was no child of 'liberal upbringing' by no means but was/is one of economically enabled kids. What was she doing in Aruba? She wanted to enjoy her life as much as possible with the wonderful opportunities that upper middle class economics enable.
She was young person in college and no different than anyone who had the economic means to go someplace exotic for a break from college. After earning almost 200 semester credit hours at three universities, I might know something about it. I was never able to do those kinds of things and living on whatever I could save during summer jobs, without a car most of the time and working part-time, I was lucky to be able to feed myself living on roughly $200 a month of which rent had to be paid.
That whole story as tragic as it is should destroy the myth of the 'girls gone wild' and 'college girls' slant that this is a 'liberal' thing. But apparently undiscerning minds cannot break away from the myth of 'liberal' college education and leftist professors. I don't remember meeting any student who concerned themselves with politics in college. Even my friend who was majoring in political science didn't talk about it, it wasn't something we wanted to talk about, we're just getting thru classes. My law enforcement major roommate did get his dream job as a state trooper in Indiana, but apparently lost it because he sought sexual favors from women he pulled over. He was from a very conservative family, and was pretty much a redneck through and through.
I could be wrong about how these 'girls gone wild' commercial spots are being selectively and liberallly inserted all around democratic leaning programming to discourage the hard right religious types from viewing the programs. But am I?
The commercials are so flagrant and raunchy and seem so out of place around these types of programs, I really feel it is very intentional. We know that commercial spots are generally inserted in order to closely align with programs that appeal target market audiences. These commercial spots seem to be inserted to outrage or offend people who are only interested in the program itself who might be offended by it. I am not a religious fanatic by any means but I don't want to see these crap commercials all over the few programs I care to view.
I think there is a purpose to it and I believe it is to offend conservatives who may now be interested in programming that doesn't spew the normal faux news type political rubbish. Long commercial spots of girls gone wild hot lesbo action during Lou Dobbs is weird. It was a really good program hitting on some real economic issue headlines like shipping containers leftover from china clogging the ports being made into homes then the program is interrupted with close-in crotch shots, legs spread wide in swimming suits or naked with the standard blurs to keep from being fined by the FCC, girls bent over in contorted poses, girls licking each other and breasts all the place for 5 freakin minutes (it seemed) during the commercial 'breaks'.
I noticed the same thing during The Daily Show and Colbert Report. I am offended by it and believe it is deliberate to discredit the programs, mute their message and outrage or discourage conservatives who may be questioning what their party is actually doing.
As raunchy and lengthy as these commercials are, I have little doubt it is effective in trying to kill the message. The message is not girls gone wild, it is the economy is in extremely poor shape and the gop manipulated media is trying to hide the truth with attractive young women bent over, spreading their legs as wide as possible revealing a major crotch shot.
Is there anything that isn't being manipulated to hide the truth?
